Art
Creating art expands a child's ability to interact with the world around them and provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication.

Music
It helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. Dancing to music helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice self-expression.

Movement
Movement in children can help increase memory, perception, language, attention, emotion, and decision making.

Language
Child care providers can help children learn a language easily yet in exciting ways. As a child care provider, you know beautiful ways to enrich language by singing, reading, having conversations, writing, drawing, fingerplays, rhymes, poems, music, and storytelling.

Mathematics
Math is everywhere, and it's more than just learning numbers. When children sort crayons by color, put puzzles together, build with blocks, count their raisins during snacks, and sing "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed," they learn about math. These hands-on learning activities create a solid foundation for children to understand shapes, sizes, length, addition, and subtraction. Children who have the opportunity to learn math-related concepts in early childhood often do better in school and are more skilled at using math as an adult.

Outside Play
Children need to remain active throughout the day; promoting outdoor play allows them to get fresh air and explore their environment more. Hands-on learning, the natural environment, and loose parts in the outdoors stimulate children's senses through what they hear, touch, see, and feel.
